Editorial
guidelines for authors of reports
General
information
1.
The
report can be written by the authors who have presented during the 12th
edition of SNSA Łódź U Like.
2.
The
text should address the issues presented by the Authors during the
presentation, after possible extension or/and supplementation of the research
material and should be the author's own,
previously unpublished study.
3.
Authors
are required to submit complete texts prepared according tothe guidelines below
to the Organiser by e-mail to the following address: wstępniak.lodzulike21@gmail.com until 14.03.2021.
4.
The
papers should be submitted to the Organiser in a text-editable format (.doc,
.docx, .odt, .rtf). Illustrations should be sent as separate files in .jpg,
.png or .pdf format.
5.
The
papers will be reviewed. The reviewers will be academic staff of Faculties
/Institutes of Architecture of technical universities with doctoral degree or
higher one.
6.
After
receiving the review, the Authors are obliged to correct the papers in the way
specified by the Reviewer and send them back to the Seminar Organizer within
the deadline specified by the Organizer (not less than 2 weeks from receiving
the review).
Content
of the paper
·
The
text should be prepared in B5 format(176x250 mm), leaving a 2,5 cm margin on
each side.
·
The
volume of the article should be 20 000 - 30 000 characters with spaces. The
volume includes the title, abstract, proper text, footnotes, bibliography,
title and abstract in English, illustrations and tables. 1cm2 of an
illustration or table corresponds to a volume of 13 characters.
·
The
paper should be written entirely in Times New Roman font, including:

author's
name - 11 points font, italics
· author's
affiliation - 10 points font, italics

- 14 points font, bold
· subtitles
- 12 points font, bold
·
body
of article - 11 points font
· footnotes
- 10 points font
·
captions
for illustrations and tables - 10 points font, their sources in italics

1.
Authors: The first name, surname and affiliation of the
Author(s) should be placed in the top left corner.
2.
Title: The title should be placed below the Author(s)
name(s) and aligned to the right.
3.
Abstract: An abstract in English - aligned - should be placed
below the authors' details. The length of the abstract must not exceed 300
characters (with spaces). At the end of abstracts, key words should be provided
- 3 to 5 terms introducing the subject of the article.
4.
Content:
The text should be
justified, with spacing of 1.15 and paragraph indentation of 0,7 cm.
4.1. The text should contain an introduction - a brief
introduction to the topic, development - a detailed study of the topic with
illustrations, comments and references
to the scientific apparatus, a conclusion containing conclusions from the
conducted analysis / research / observations. Foreign language
expressions should be written in italics.
4.2. The illustrative material is supposed to bring the
reader closer to the issues described in the article.
4.2.1.
It
must be closely related to the content of the paper and should not make up more
than ½ of the paper's length.
4.2.2.
All
illustrations should be signed as figures (figure) and numbered in a sequence
throughout the article. Under the caption of each illustration, the source used
by the Author should be written. The author of the photograph or print should
be given as well, in the case of a photograph also the year in which it was
taken (if possible) or the period in which it was taken, e.g. author's photo, 2017/ photo from J. Kowalski
archive, 1930s.
4.2.3.
By
submitting a text, authors assume all responsibility for possible infringement
of other people's copyrights, if the illustration in question would be used by
them unlawfully.
4.2.4.
All
graphics in which colours are significant (e.g. charts, diagrams) should be
submitted in two colour versions: in colour and in shades of grey, prepared in
such a way that they will be legible also in black and white printing.
4.3. Footnotes should be included in the text, listing the
bibliographic references referred to in the text.
4.3.1.
The
first entry should be described as in the appendix bibliography (see appendix 2
for rules on compiling an appendix bibliography). After that, abbreviated
versions of the description should be used, as well as abbreviations such as
"op. cit.", "the same",
"ibidem".
4.3.2.
Footnotes
commenting on and supplementing the main body of the article are also a
desirable feature.
5. Sources: The main content should be followed by an appendix bibliography,
arranged alphabetically, prepared according to the model used at the Technical
University of Lodz (Appendix 2). Bibliographic sources should be numbered using
Arabic numerals. In the case of using archival sources, the Bibliography should
be preceded by separately numbered archives. 6.
6.
The
abstract in Polish: At
the end of the article there will be a title and summary in Polish, which will
be translated by the organizers.
7.
Author's
note: A note about the
author can be sent in a separate text file. It should include:
•
author's
name with academic and professional titles and degrees,
•
course,
year and degree, if applicable
•
the
name of the university, faculty and scientific association / department or team
in which the author works,
•
major
scientific and professional achievements.
A model of the note can be found in Appendix 3.

Małgorzata Urbańska – Eng. of Architecture, at the time of Łódź U Like Seminar 2019 first-year student of architectural master’s studies on Lodz University of Technology. Since 2016 member of Architecture Students’ Scientific Circle “IX Piętro”. She has taken part in XVIII Architecture Students’ Scientific Expedition to eastern Carpathians - Hutsul region 2016 as well as post-expedition exhibition of photographs and inventory drawings of wooden Hutsul churches. In the period from February to July of 2017 a scholar of LPP Erasmus+ program at the University of Thessaly in Volos, Greece. Currently a deputy chairwoman of Students’ Scientific Circle “IX Piętro”.

VIII. Rules for
abbreviating footnotes:
·
if there are
consecutive titles, write "ibid", including the page works by the
same author but with a different title: instead of the surname - "the
same".
·
the same title and
author separated by another heading: author's name, op. cit. (i.e. work cited),
page in the case of two works by the same author, give the first part of the
title, full stops and a page.
